Rahul Giri was born on January 04, 1996, in Hazaribagh, Jharkhand, India. He completed his elementary and high school at Kendriya Vidyalaya BSF Meru Hazaribagh in 2013. Afterward, he went to Acharya Narendra Dev College (ANDC), the University of Delhi for his undergraduate degree. He received his Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Chemistry in 2016.

In 2017 he cleared IIT JAM and moved to the IISER BHOPAL for his Master’s studies in AB Research Group with Prof. Alakesh Bisai. In his master’s he cleared CSIR-JRF, GATE. After completion of his Master’s in 2021, he joined the University of Fribourg as an SNSF Ph.D. candidate in Katayev Lab. Since February 2023, he is continuing his Ph.D. research at the University of Bern with the same research group.

Rahul’s research revolves around developing innovative methodologies for functional group transfer reagents. Additionally, he is actively exploring new applications of nitrating reagents developed by the Katayev group.

Rahul likes to write poems and participate in debates, he is also very active on social media he can be found on Quora, LinkedIn, and Twitter. Listening to songs and poetry is his favorite time pass.
