Tian Zhang was born in 2000 in Shandong Province, China. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Qilu University of Technology. In Sep. 2022, he enrolled at Zhengzhou University to pursue his master’s degree. In July 2023, he joined Professor Qilong Shen’s group at the Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry to launch his research project, focusing on fluoroalkyl reagents and organometallic complexes. Upon completing his master’s training, he worked as a research assistant at the Hangzhou Institute of Medical Sciences. In July 2026, Zhang relocated to Bern, Switzerland, to join Professor Dmitry Katayev’s research group. Here, he is engaged in developing novel methodologies for efficient and precise fluorinated radical transfer under visible-light irradiation.
