Vasiliki Valsamidou was born in 1994 in Munich, Germany. She studied chemistry at LMU Munich and completed her Master’s studies in late 2022, after joining the group of Prof. Dorian Didier for her Master’s thesis on electro- and photocoupling reactions with boronic ester species. Prior to that, she also worked in the fields of organometallic (group of Prof. Paul Knochel), pharmaceutical (group of Dr. Oliver Thorn-Seshold), and inorganic chemistry (group of Prof. Wolfgang Schnick).
In April 2023 she moved to Bern, Switzerland, where she joined the group of Prof. Dmitry Katayev to investigate novel nitrating reagents and develop functional group transfer methodologies.
